Treatment Court

Marquette County Treatment Court is an effective alternative sentencing program for individuals with alcohol and drug problems who are facing legal consequences of their substance abuse. The treatment court seeks to provide a unique opportunity to treat the substance abuse and address the co-existing legal problems. Treatment court offers reduced legal consequence with the requirement of attending 2 year treatment process which is supervised by the court.

An individual can be referred into the court by their attorney, probation officer, alcohol drug counselor and/or public defender. The individual should call (608) 297-3064 to be screened.

If you have an alcohol and/or drug problem that results in legal problems or are currently facing any legal charges for alcohol or drug related crimes you are a candidate for Treatment Court.

During the treatment process you will be required to:

  • Abstain from alcohol and drugs
  • Have regular drug/alcohol testing before each court appearance
  • Maintain active treatment based on your providers' recommendations
  • Have a sponsor/mentor
  • Attend court ordered reviews as scheduled
  • Abstain from any illegal or criminal behavior
