Corrina Vastine and Ashley Ahlstrom, freshmen at Westfield High School, attended the Youth Partners in Civic Leadership conference Nov 11-13, 2011. Twenty two teams of students from Wisconsin convened at YMCA Camp Matawa near Campbellsport to learn about activism. Vastine and Ahlstrom attended breakout sessions on topics such as cultural sensitivity, healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices, safe relationships and teen court. Conference participants put their activism ideas into practice with the culmination of a Town Hall Meeting Sunday morning. Both participants are part of the county leadership group here in Marquette County and plan to put the new ideas they learned into effect here in the county.
